In a Truth Social post, Trump called O’Donnell a “Threat to Humanity” and claimed he was “giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship,” urging she remain in Ireland, where she recently relocated.
However, legal experts note the president has no authority to revoke the citizenship of U.S.-born citizens. O’Donnell was born in New York and moved to Ireland earlier this year with her son, citing safety and equal rights concerns under Trump’s leadership.
O’Donnell’s comments stemmed from her reaction to the devastating July 4 floods in Texas that killed at least 120 people, including many children. In a TikTok video, she blamed Trump for gutting environmental and forecasting agencies, suggesting the administration’s budget cuts weakened early warning systems.
Trump, in response, defended the federal response during a visit to Texas, claiming his administration “did an incredible job under the circumstances.” Nonetheless, public scrutiny continues to mount over whether more could have been done to prevent the catastrophe.
O’Donnell fired back on Instagram, stating Trump targets her because she opposes everything he represents. Their feud traces back to 2006 when O’Donnell criticized Trump on The View during a Miss USA controversy.
